DESCRIPTION:View and download program booklet\nThis ballet by Bengt Jörgen is an innovative take on the classic tale. Jörgen’s choreography balances fairy tale elements with a contemporary treatment of Cinderella and her family ties. Jörgen returns to the original Russian tradition of giving the roles of stepsisters to women to make Cinderella and her circumstances more realistic and human. Then he uses these scenes to contrast as well as emphasize the fantastical aspects of the story. Glenn Davidson’s sets create a fantastical atmosphere based on the idea of ​​the natural world reclaiming man-made structures. The inspiration for the scenes comes from ice storms and ancient forests. Robert Doyle’s costumes playfully reveal each character’s personality. Ballet Jörgen’s Cinderella is classical ballet with modern theatrical sensibilities. \n  \n  \n
