Originally from Panama, Ana Isabel “Chabi” Arauz now resides in Toronto, as an apprentice with Ballet Jörgen. She graduated from George Brown College’s Dance Performance program, where she was able to train under many great teachers, like Hiroto Saito, Clea Iveson, Daniel Da Silva and Laetitia Clement. The program also allowed her to work with renowned choreographers like Hanna Kiel, Alyssa Martin, Jose Carret and Derek Sangster. After George Brown, Chabi joined Ballet Jörgen for a year as a Mentorship student, where she was able to learn firsthand from the company’s dancers. Her most recent performances include The Nutcracker: A Canadian Tradition, as well as Anne of Green Gables: The Ballet‘ with Ballet Jorgen, Perceptions by Jose Carret, Side-by-Side: Winter Bach by Nicola Pantin, and a guest performance at George Brown College’s UNLEASHED.
