Originally from Kingston, Aria completed her early training at The Conservatory under Melissa Mahady and Anthea Morgan. At thirteen, she earned placement into the highest level of The Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet’s summer training program — she continued to train directly under Ms. Kirkland and her esteemed faculty for subsequent summers and was invited into GKA’s full-time professional training program. Aria furthered her studies by combining her love for ballet and academics at George Brown College, graduating with honours from the P105 Dance Performance Program in April 2022. She subsequently joined Ballet Jörgen as a mentee during their 2022/2023 season, completing her mentorship under the company’s faculty and principal dancer Hannah Mae Cruddas. Aria is now privately coached by Greta Hodgkinson and retains a rich enthusiasm for continued learning.
Aria currently performs as a freelance artist. She was previously a lead dancer for The Conservatory Ballet, completing soloist, principal, and guest roles. She has also performed under Ballet Jörgen as a mentee and a 2023 Junior Company dancer. Her classical performance highlights include: Anne of Green Gables — The Ballet, Bach Concerto, Cinderella, Giselle, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker: A Canadian Tradition, and The Snow Maiden. Her previous collaborations also include work with modern artists Peggy Baker (Peggy Baker Dance Projects), Andrea Nann (Dreamwalker Dance), Brendan Fernandes, Alyssa Martin (Rock Bottom Movement), José Angel Carret (Danza Corpus), as well as, appearances in music videos for Colin Eatocks and Nameless Friends. Aria’s directorial and choreographic work includes the award-nominated piece Transmogrification, featured in the Canadian Juvenis Festival.
Aria is elated to join Ballet Jörgen’s Junior Company for its 2024 season!
