Aria Lara Wilton is an emerging dance artist based in Toronto, Canada. Originally from Kingston, Ontario, Aria completed her early training at The Conservatory under master teachers Melissa Mahady Wilton and Anthea Morgan. At thirteen years of age, Aria was the youngest student to be accepted into The Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet’s summer training program, earning placement into the highest technical level of the program, and working directly with Ms. Kirkland and her esteemed faculty for subsequent summers. She was invited to attend GKA’s full-time professional training program. Aria furthered her studies under respected artists Hiroto Saito, Laetitia Clement, and Mercedes Bernardez Carret, graduating with honours from the P105 Dance Performance Program at George Brown College in April 2022. Aria is a former leading dancer for The Conservatory Ballet Company, with which she performed principal and soloist roles from across the classical repertoire, including: Giselle, Cinderella, The Nutcracker, and The Snow Maiden. Aria’s previous collaborations also include work with modern artists Peggy Baker (Peggy Baker Dance Projects), Andrea Nann (Dreamwalker Dance), Brendan Fernandes, Alyssa Martin (Rock Bottom Movement), and José Angel Carret (Danza Corpus). Aria’s directorial and choreographic work includes the award-nominated piece Transmogrification, featured in the Canadian Juvenis Festival. Most recently, Aria performed an excerpt from Bach Concerto for Dance Ontario’s DanceWeekend’22, as a member of Ballet Jörgen’s Junior Company. She also recently appeared in Colin Eatocks’ Dance No. 4 for Saxophones. Aria is excited to join Ballet Jörgen as a mentee for the 2022/2023 season.
