Mari Budgey

Mari Budgey is a versatile emerging artist with a strong background in classical ballet. Currently based in Toronto, Mari is a graduate of The Ailey School, where she engaged in extensive study of both Graham and Horton techniques. While training at the school, she also explored Dunham and West African dance. After graduating The Ailey School in 2019, Mari chose to continue her dance studies at George Brown Dance, having the opportunity to work with choreographers José Angél Carret (Danza Corpus), Lauren Cook (Alias Dance Project) and Derek Sangster (George Brown College). She has recently graduated from the Dance Performance Program and was accepted into the ProArteDanza Summer Intensive. During this time, she had the opportunity to work with esteemed choreographer Roberto Campanella in a remounting of his work Diamonds. She is looking forward to beginning her mentorship with Hanna Kiel and Derek Sangster.
