Mao Yokosaka

Originally from Tokyo, Japan, Mao Yokosaka moved to Toronto to pursue her dance career, currently in a dance performance program at George Brown College. She started her ballet training when she was 4 and has been in many classical ballet pieces and performed such as: Act 1 Raymonda’s Dream variation from Raymonda, Act 3 Kitri and Cupid variation from Don Quixote, Snow Flake Corps from The Nutcracker, Summer Fairy from Cinderella, Niriti’s variation from Le Talisman. She also danced with a professional ballet company Tani Momoko Ballet in Japan, as a child cast in Sleeping Beauty directed by Eldar Aliev who is the ballet artistic director of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre. In 2020, she studied contemporary and jazz dance in Australia and succeeded in expanding her dance genres and skills. Here in Toronto, she has worked with dance/theater artist Susie Burpee in the 2023 production of UNLEASHED, and with American dance artist/choreographer Irma Villafuerte, and Cindy Macedo this year.
