Production Coordinator

Job Description

The Production Coordinator will assist with all production related activities for Ballet Jörgen’s 2026-2027 touring season. The Production Coordinator will assist with hiring crew, coordinating technical requirements with venues, preparing tour itineraries, and securing accommodation and transportation needs for the upcoming season.  The 2026-2027 season will include tours of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Nutcracker: A Canadian Tradition, and Swan Lake. The Production Coordinator position will be a three-month contract with the possibility of an extension.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with hiring of all technical crew as needed including the Technical Coordinator, Stage Manager, Lighting Coordinator, and Wardrobe Supervisor;
  • Contacting theatres for technical information;
  • Creating and disseminating schedules and technical information to all theatres including daily theatre schedules, crew breakdown, and technical riders;
  • Producing itineraries, master rooming lists, and van allocations for all Company performance and outreach activities;
  • Assisting with prop, costume and set preparations for the 2026-2027 season, including cleaning and repairs as needed.
  • General studio/storage upkeep including minor repairs;
  • Assisting with performances, classes and rehearsals as needed;
  • Maintaining detailed records of all technical specifications for Company touring venues;
  • Booking touring related transportation, including flights, dancer vans and production trucks;
  • Confirming hotel accommodations with the presenters and arranging additional rooms; and road stop accommodation when necessary;
  • Calculating per diems for all touring personnel and submitting to the General Manager for processing;
  • Tracking and submission of receipts for production related expenses;
  • Production budget tracking;
  • Staying up to date on all Canada and United States trucking regulations including weight limits, licence requirements, required time off; and driver tracking and paperwork requirements;
  • Production Meetings as required;
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills a must;
  • 3+ years of theatre production experience a must;
  • Class G Ontario Drivers Licence or equivalent a must;
  • Punctual, organized and able to perform tasks independently;
  • Good relationship building skills;
  • Must be able to handle stressful situations and deadline pressure while ensuring accuracy;
  • Skilled in major computer applications related to work including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook;
  • French an asset.

The Production Coordinator will report to the Artistic Director & CEO.

Locations:

Jörgen Dance Studios at 160 Kendal Avenue, Building C, Room 126, Toronto

Jörgen Dance Warehouse at 1110 Finch Avenue West, Toronto

Contract Length:Three Months with the possibility of an extension. Expected start date of May 18, 2026

Hours: Full-Time

Salary:$900/week

Education Outreach Program Coordinator

Job Description

The Education Outreach Program Coordinator provides administrative and logistical support for Jörgen Dance Academy’s Summer Dance Intensive Programs. These programs offer summer dance training for students from ages 9 to 20. There are five levels designed for different abilities, ranging from beginner to emerging artists seeking a professional career in dance. The primary objective of the Company’s Summer Dance programs is to build knowledge and skill across age groups and geographies. The work provided by the Education Outreach Program Coordinator will help ensure the Company can meet this objective.

Main tasks for the Education Outreach Program Coordinator include administrative work on program preparation and registration, supporting student orientation, and providing assistance for students, parents and guardians. The ideal candidate will have an interest in performing arts administration or education.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Chaperoning duties on site at company studios;
  • Assisting with binder preparation for summer program dorm chaperones;
  • Entering data gathered from Summer Dance feedback forms;
  • Putting together preliminary program paperwork with 2026 updates;
  • Assisting with studio preparation, set-up for showings;
  • Preparing class lists, checking class attendance;
  • Escorting students to appointments as needed;
  • Assisting with research for future informational communications;
  • Assisting with social media content generation;
  • Producing contracts, updating and monitoring daily schedules with respect to faculty & accompanists;
  • Various other tasks as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Post-secondary education in Dance/Arts and/or Arts Administration or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work with children, youth and adults with confidence
  • Excellent command of the English language (written and spoken)
  • Knowledge of and experience with WordPress is an asset
  • Accurate data entry and tracking skills, Excel & Database work, Raisers Edge experience an asset
  • Knowledge of and experience with Excel & Word
  • Able to work with confidential information
  • Excellent and detailed organizational skills with people and with numbers
  • Pleasant, confident and affable telephone and email manner
  • Ability to follow directions and work unsupervised
  • Full G License is an asset
  • Must be available to work some evenings and weekends.

This job is made possible through the Government of Canada’s Summer Jobs Program. Candidates must be between 15 and 30 years of age AND be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.

Employment Length:9 Weeks

Start Date:June 15, 2026

Hours: 30 hours per week

Compensation:$17.85/Hour

  • Percussionists for modern dance classes
  • Pianists for Vocal and Chorus Repertoire classes
    Accompanists will potentially be called upon to play for a ballet class for the company, and/or as a substitute for George Brown Dance classes. This may lead to contracts for regular classes during school terms.

Ballet teachers will potentially be called upon to teach for the company; all teachers may be asked to substitute for George Brown Dance classes. This may lead to contracts for regular classes during school terms.
