Ballets
Jörgen Dance was founded to support the development and dissemination of original choreography.
We only dance ballets created on the Company ensuring an entirely original repertoire of ballets.
We tell Canadian stories and celebrate our heritage by transplanting major classical ballets such as The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty into Canadian settings.
To date Canada’s Ballet Jörgen has presented 257 original creations by 92 different choreographers.
Canadian Choreographers
Jörgen Dance is committed to reflecting the many communities we are working in across Canada and to ensure our ballets are anchored in contemporary Canadian society.
We exclusively commissions ballets from Canadian and Canadian based choreographers.
We provide sustained support for choreographic development in a range of creative settings for emerging, mid-career and well established artists.
