Born in Hong Kong, Eugene began dancing ballet and jazz at the age of 8. At 16 years old, he moved to Australia to train at The Australian Ballet School on a full scholarship. Eugene has had the opportunity to work with The Australian Ballet under David Hallberg in their productions of Anna Karenina and Romeo & Juliet, as well as with the Hong Kong Ballet in Vladimir Malakhov’s La Bayadére. Eugene has previously danced with the Milwaukee Ballet and Ballet Victoria, where he performed soloist roles such as the pas de trios in Paquita, The Flames of Paris pas de deux, and ‘Puck’ in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Eugene has participated in summer intensives around the world including The Royal Ballet School and The Royal Danish Ballet, and he has received accolades such as the Asian Grand Prix Gold Medal and The Australian Ballet School’s Encouragement Award. Eugene is looking forward to his first season with Ballet Jörgen, and is excited to dance in new creations and repertoire.
