Board Chair Mara Nickerson thanks all CBJ volunteers on Family Day

Today is Family Day for many of us across the country, and I am proud to share our 2015-2016 Annual Report in celebration of the CBJ family.

As a touring company, we are sincerely touched by how Canadians welcomed the performing arts into their communities. Across the country, we have physiotherapists who volunteered at each tour stop, rehearsal directors who trained young dancers, and studios that lent us space. In our home bases in Halifax and Toronto, volunteers hosted the company in their homes.

Volunteers play a big part in the CBJ family, and I would like to take a moment to highlight two of my colleagues on the board of directors. I would like to welcome Mr. Kevin Goldthorp, who officially joined our board in January. Kevin is the President and Chief Development Officer at SickKids Foundation, and he has been part of our Development Committee since 2015. I would also like to thank Ms. Catherine Graham, who stepped down from the board last December, for her services to the Company.

Our work across the country is enriched by the unique contributions from our supporters and volunteers. I thank you for being a part of the CBJ family, and invite you to read our 2015-2016 Annual Report, which highlights the Company’s achievements in a phenomenal season. Thank you for helping us connect Canadian communities through dance, and happy Family Day!

Sincerely,

Mara Nickerson
Chair, Board of Directors
