Cartographies of Motion: Free Public Showcase in Toronto

May 21 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Free

Ballet Jörgen’s Choreographers of Colour Program is officially underway, and our studios are alive with creativity as five outstanding Canadian artists collaborate with our dancers. This immersive program offers participants – Jennifer Archibald, Emily Cheung, Sheriauna Haase, Jane-Leigh Jamieson, and Kunal Ranchod – dedicated studio time to experiment, take risks, and develop original choreographic sketches in a professional setting.

Selected from dozens of applicants, this year’s choreographers represent a rich diversity of dance styles, perspectives, and experience levels. In addition to hands-on creation, participants have the opportunity for individualized mentorship from Hanna Kiel, Artistic Director of Human Body Expression and Ballet Jörgen’s Choreographer in Residence.

The program culminates in a free public showing on May 21, offering audiences a unique opportunity to experience these bold new works in their formative stage.

Must RSVP to attend, space is limited.

One of attendees will have a chance to win two tickets to our upcoming Toronto mainstage performance of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in October 2026— winner drawn on-site and must be present to claim.
