Ballet Jörgen Celebrates Landmark 2024/25 Season with 12% Growth in Sales and Over 58,000 Canadians Reached
Toronto, ON— Ballet Jörgen is pleased to announce the successful completion of its 2024/25 season, marked by a 12% increase in ticket sales and performance fees, reaching a total of $1,082,580. The company connected with over 58,000 people across nine provinces, with many performances playing to sold-out venues.
This milestone season featured three major Canadian-inspired ballets, reinforcing Ballet Jörgen’s commitment to original works that reflect Canada’s rich cultural heritage and landscapes:
- Anne of Green Gables – The Ballet concluded its acclaimed five-year run with a final performance in Brockville, Ontario on November 1, 2024.
- The Nutcracker: A Canadian Tradition, set in and around Algonquin Park and featuring breathtaking backdrops inspired by the Group of Seven, toured across Ontario and Saskatchewan.
- Sleeping Beauty, reimagined through a Saskatchewan tale about how the rose got its thorns, received standing ovations nationwide.
“Ballet Jörgen believes that every Canadian should have access to high-quality dance,” said Bengt Jörgen, C.M., Artistic Director and CEO. “We are delighted that so many people across Canada took the time to come out to see us dance – a real testament to the importance of the performing arts in communities large and small.”
