Anuja Royan is the Managing Director and founding director of Mithril360, the Canadian affiliate of Austin, TX based Mithril Capital. Founded in 2012, Mithril is a large venture capital fund for transformative and durable technology companies, investing in industries often overdue for change. Mithril operates globally and its investments range across sectors, including medical robotics, cyber-security, immunotherapy, alternate energy, and advanced data analytics. Anuja has advised and also serves on several portfolio boards and committees.
Prior to Mithril, Anuja was most recently senior vice president of Counsel Corporation, a diversified public holding company with interests in venture/private equity and real estate finance, including TubeMogul, Buddy Media, Street Capital, Robert Graham, Juicy Couture, Prince tennis, amongst others. Prior to Counsel, Anuja was senior vice president at Cerberus Capital’s affiliate private equity firm, Hilco Consumer Capital, focused on acquiring leading consumer brands including Polaroid, The Sharper Image, House of Bob Marley and The Bombay Company. She has led corporate finance, investing and structuring activities for both general partnerships and operating investment portfolios.
Throughout her career, Anuja has been invited to speak on diverse topics at several conferences. She is involved in the private investment and venture community to ensure that innovation, investment and entrepreneurship opportunities are made available to all.
Anuja received a B.Comm and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Toronto.
She is a lifelong supporter of the visual and performing arts, education and healthcare initiatives. Anuja is also trained in the classical traditions of Ballet, Bharatanatyam and Ashtanga yoga.
