Camilla Hood

RBC Apprentice

Brandon, Manitoba

Originally from Brandon, Manitoba, Camilla trained at the Brandon School of Dance before joining the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Professional Division at age 13. She received training from Stephan Leonard, Vanessa Leonard, Failya Bolgarova, Alexander Gamayunov, Radostina Panova, and Gabriela Rehak. During her time at the School, she was the recipient of the prestigious Prince Edward Award and the Juanita Y. Alexander Award for Artistic Excellence.  After graduating from the program in 2023, she joined the RWB’s Anna McCowen Johnson Aspirant Program where she worked with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company. She performed and toured with the RWB company in their Nutcracker, dancing in the corps as a snowflake, flower, and mouse, as well as an acting role as a maid. Camilla has danced as Mercedes, Fairy Doll, Fleur De Lys, Esmerelda, Odette, and in the Paquita pas de Trois during her time with the RWB PD. Performing in RWB’s Ballet in the Park is one of her favourite performance memories. Seeing ballet bring joy to so many people continues to remind her of why this art form is so special. Camilla joined Ballet Jörgen in their 2024 Junior Company and is excited to have the opportunity to perform with the company for their upcoming season.
