Courtney Yun

Junior Company Member

Courtney is a 19-year-old dancer who has been training since the age of eight. She began her dance education in South Korea, where she focused on ballet training for one year before moving to Canada. She continued her studies at the Edmonton School of Ballet, where she broadened her training to include jazz, lyrical, modern, and contemporary dance, developing both technical versatility and artistic expression.

At the age of 16, Courtney was accepted into the Ballet Academic Program at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. During her time in the program, she performed in Études, Raymonda, and a contemporary work choreographed by Gabriella Rehak. Upon graduating, she was accepted into the Anna McCowan-Johnson Aspirant Program, where she had the opportunity to perform alongside the Royal Winnipeg Ballet.

As an Aspirant, Courtney performed in productions including Coppélia, Swan Lake, and Giselle, while also appearing in company productions of Hansel and Gretel, The Nutcracker, and The Sleeping Beauty. Through these experiences, she gained valuable performance opportunities both in Winnipeg and on tour, further developing her artistry and stage presence. Courtney continues to pursue excellence in both classical and contemporary repertoire and is passionate about growing as an artist and performer.”
