Jimmy Hampshire

Jimmy Hampshire started his dance training in various styles such as ballet, musical theatre, tap and jazz at the age of 4 in Courtenay BC. When he turned 16, he was accepted into the Royal Winnipeg Ballet (RWB) School Ballet Academic Program and continued his ballet training over the course of three years. During his training, he received scholarships from the RWB School such as the “Rene Highway Scholarship” and the “Arnold Sphor Scholarship.” Jimmy also competed in the school’s First Steps choreography competition (2024 & 2025) and received recognition and scholarships which includes the “Doreen MacDonald Scholarship” and the “RWB School Award.” In June of 2025 he graduated from the program and was accepted into the RWB Anna McCowan Johnson Aspirant Program which gave him many opportunities to perform alongside the RWB Company. Throughout his training at the RWB School, Jimmy has studied and performed numerous ballet repertoire such as Raymonda, Paquita, La Sylphide and Swan Lake. Jimmy is looking forward for this upcoming summer at Ballet Jörgen and is excited to continue to grow as a dancer/artist.
