Nicole Inica Hamilton is the founder and Artistic Director of Inica Dance Industries. A certified educator and member of Dance Masters of Canada and Dance Masters of America, Hamilton has served as a guest teacher, mentor and speaker at institutes across Canada including but not limited to; George Brown College, University of Toronto, York University and University of Calgary.
Hamilton is the recipient of numerous awards in the dance competition sector, and provides both advisory, and adjudication support for competitive dance organizations across North America. As a touring Educator and Speaker, she has presented in national and international conventions and championships including; The Toronto Dance Teacher Expo, Creation Dance Championships (USA), the Performing Arts Medicine Association and more. Hamilton has performed, and choreographed for several major musicals, and dramatic theatre productions. Selected credits include; Who’s that dancing (2009), Private Pain in Public Pews (2012), Pieces of Me (2013), The Singers (2014), and To Jane with Love (2016).
Hamilton serves as an On-Air Radio Host on The Career Buzz Show and is a Producer/ Host with Turn Out Radio broadcasting on CIUT 89.5 FM. She reports on the current news affairs of our time with special focus on arts, health, career and business news on CIUT 89.5 FM. Hamilton is also a Co-Host on Fall For Dance North’s Mambo Podcast with Ilter Ibrahimof.
Hamilton’s vast history of studies include: D.M.A, C.D.T.A, R.A.D, ADAPT, BATD, Cecchetti, Horton, Dunham, and D.E.A. She has trained across Canada and the U.S.A, and is an alumni member of Dancers Inc., and Burlington Dance Company where her formal training began in the early 80’s.
In her work in health, Hamilton is a Counsellor and actively works with organizations to advocate for and promote healthy practices for Dance Artists. Her presentations on practices of self-care, injury prevention, holistic teaching practices and psychological stress have been presented at schools and on nationwide platforms, festivals and conferences including but not limited to; The En Avant – Royal Academy of Dance World Convention, University of Calgary, the TMC/ York University PowerUP Conference, The New Blue Dance Festival and more, with upcoming presentations set to occur at the 2021 Healthy Dancer Canada Conference. Hamilton resides on the wellness Team of Canada’s Ballet Jörgen. She is a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.
Hamilton is the creator of the Building Your Optimal Health workshop series, which strives to support and educate the dance population on progressive health and wellness measures. This work is furthered within her seat as a Board of Director with Healthy Dancer Canada, a distinct alliance of dancers, dance educators, health professionals and researchers who are dedicated to promoting dancer health and wellness, while addressing and creating a culture of healthy dance practices in Canada.
