Nura Parikh

Nura Parikh hails from Denver Colorado, where she cultivated her love for dance at a very early age. She began her training at Dance Conservatory of Denver under Jennifer Micek and Cori Lucero, and later attended Colorado Ballet Academy under the instruction of Erica Fischbach, Domenico Luciano, and Maria Mosina. She continued her training in Tucson, Arizona at the University of Arizona School of Dance where she trained in contemporary, jazz, modern, and ballet under the instruction of professors Tamara Dyke-Compton, Christopher Compton, Lorin Mathis, and Hayley Meier. While attending the University of Arizona, Nura had the opportunity to perform repertoire by Christopher Compton, as well as the principal pas de duex in the contemporary ballet “Light Rain” by Gerald Arpino.

After her time at the University of Arizona, Nura joined Colorado Ballet’s second company for the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons, where she performed with the main company in all productions. Some standout roles include the waltz and swan corps de ballet in Swan Lake, snow and flowers corps de ballet in The Nutcracker, asylum patient in Val Caniparoli’s Jekyll and Hyde, Swanhilda’s friend in Coppélia, pompette and nun in Kenneth Tindall’s Casanova, andflamingo and card corps de ballet in Septime Webre’s Alice (In Wonderland). Nura was also selected to perform George Balanchine’s Serenade at the 2024 Vail International Dance Festival in Vail, Colorado, set by Eve Lawson.

Nura has spent previous summers training at American Ballet Theater, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Boston Ballet, and Colorado Ballet’s summer programs. She is thrilled to join Ballet Jörgen’s Junior Company!
