In ballet, footwork is an essential part of maintaining control and it gives dancers the ability to dance strongly while giving the illusion of little effort. A well-articulated pointed foot adds strength and control to jumps and pointe work. It provides stability for the whole body and is critical to take off and land safely.
In this lesson you will learn:
- The essential elements that lead to a well-articulated pointed foot
- Common mistakes to avoid when pointing your feet
- How to execute a well-aligned rise and lower in ballet
