105 – Tendu Front & Side

Level: Foundation I | Duration: 21 minutes | Equipment required:  Barre, chair, or counter for balance.

This lesson focuses on how to do a Battement tendu from First position to the front and to the side. Battement tendu is a fundamental ballet movement where the leg slides straight out away from the body and then back in, while the toes stay connected with the floor. Another name for this movement is Dégagé à terre. Using your Battement tendu properly will give you great control in all leg movements.
