This lesson will teach you how to properly execute Grand battement to the front and side from First position. Grand battement is an extension of the Battement tendu – it is a movement where both legs remain stretched, and one leg pushes up off the ground with strong upwards movement coming down swiftly back through a Tendu. Grand battement is a big movement that will help you get stronger and support your Grand allegro – your big jumps.
In this lesson you will learn:
- How to correctly execute the Grand battement from First to the front and side
- Correct way to use your leg in a Grand battement and how to maintain correct posture and placement as your leg is “pushed” up in the air
- Common mistakes when performing the Grand battement from First
