Level: Foundation II | Duration: 31 minutes | Equipment required: Barre, chair, or counter for balance, and a Yoga mat for floor work (optional).
This lesson focuses on how to properly execute a jump with a change of leg in the air called a Changement de pieds, which means ‘change of feet’. Also, you will learn how to perform an Échappé, which is an opening of both legs from a closed to an open position. The name comes from the French and means “to escape; it is as if the two legs escape away from one another outwards.
Once mastered, few things in ballet beat the feeling of lightness that comes with jumping through the air.
In this lesson you will learn:
- How to use the muscles needed for building the strength and ease to jump well
