The four lessons in the Ballet Technique Fundamentals 1 course curriculum focus on basic and essential building blocks of ballet technique. You will learn how to use your body and muscles to complete these movements with a strong understanding of what they mean to your ballet technique. In this unit you will learn the basic arm and leg positions, Demi-pliés, Grand pliés, and rising and pointing.
After completing this unit you will know:
- arm positions in first, second, above the head, and bras bas
- the five fundamental leg positions with Demi-pliés in all
- controlling the legs in fourth and fifth position
- Grand plié in all positions
- pointing and articulating the feet as well as rising to demi-pointe and lowering
How to get the most from this unit:
- take your time with the 4 lessons to ensure that you have fully understood and absorbed the intricacies of the technical element covered
- watch and dance along with each of the recaps and choreographed practice sections in each lesson 2-3 times each
- dance the Fundamentals 1 Unit Practice session at least 3-5 times
- have some fun and test your knowledge with a quiz
