Temps de l’ange – An arched jump with the legs in attitude

An angel step. A jump from two feet to two feet with the body arched backwards and the legs bent behind, with the feet together or crossed. Similar to Sissonne Soubresaut/Temps de Poisson where the legs are straight rather than bent.

Temps de Poisson – A jump that looks like the curved spine of a fish

This is a movement where the legs are held together and the spine curves backwards with the legs tight together to represent the tail of a fish. Also called Sissonne Soubresaut or Pas de Poisson.

Temps Levé – A jump on one foot

A jump where the whole shape is lifted into the air. Taking off from one foot and landing on that same foot.

Tombée – A falling movement

A step used to transfer weight through a “controlled” fall.

Tourner – To turn. One of the *Seven Movements of Dance.

Indicates that a step is done turning.

Turnout – The use of muscles at the back of the legs to allow proper rotation of the leg extending out from the hip
